Winter Classic 2023 Live: NHL Network today announced it will serve as the exclusive U.S. TV home of the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship for the 15th consecutive year. Live game telecasts, plus comprehensive analysis, highlights and interviews from Halifax and Moncton, NS, Canada will air throughout NHL Network’s programming.
The coverage begins tomorrow, December 21 with live telecasts of the pre-competition matchups between Sweden vs. USA at 2:30 p.m. ET, followed by Canada vs. Slovakia at 6:30 p.m. ET. NHL Network will preview the 2023 tournament and players to watch on NHL Tonight: 2023 World Junior Championship Preview on Sunday, December 25 at 6 p.m. The 2023 Discover NHL Winter Classic will mark the fifth time the Bruins will play in an NHL regular-season outdoor game and the Penguins’ sixth regular season outdoor contest. This is the second outdoor NHL game at Fenway Park.
Richard scored on a breakaway to make it 1-0 at 1:48 of the first period, skating past two defenders in the neutral zone before beating Georgiev glove side. Richard played 389 games over eight seasons in the American Hockey League prior to scoring in his fourth NHL game. Lehkonen tied it at 1-1 on the power play with a snap shot from between the circles at 2:16 of the third period. It was his first game against the Canadiens since they traded him to the Avalanche on March 21.
